Off-Grid Power: What to Expect
Our vehicles are set up for off-grid camping, meaning you can enjoy power away from caravan parks and powered sites. They are fitted with either a lithium or deep-cycle battery system, along with solar charging and charging from the vehicle while driving.
However, off-grid does not mean unlimited power for an entire holiday without recharging.
To keep the power system working reliably, the battery needs regular charging. This normally happens in one or more of the following ways:
- Driving regularly: The vehicle charges the house battery while you travel. Moving between destinations each day is usually enough to maintain the system for normal use.
- Staying at caravan parks: When you connect to 240V power at a caravan park, the battery is recharged.
- Solar charging: Solar assists with charging, particularly in summer and during clear weather. Solar output is reduced in winter, cloudy conditions, shaded campsites and when the panel is dirty or covered.
For the best off-grid experience, plan to either drive regularly, stay on powered sites from time to time, or choose campsites with good sun exposure.
If you stay in one location for several days, particularly in winter or under trees, the battery may not receive enough charge to support ongoing use. In that situation, a drive or connection to 240V power will be needed to recharge it.
To help preserve battery power, use appliances sensibly and avoid leaving high-power items running unnecessarily. The vehicle’s power system is designed for normal camping use such as lighting, water pump, fridge operation, charging phones and small personal devices. High-power appliances can drain the battery quickly.
A trouble-free off-grid holiday comes down to one simple rule: Use the power system but make sure it receives regular charge.
Ducted Heating
Stay warm and cozy during colder days with the Powerful Ducted Heating, courtesy of the on-board auxiliary unit, which doesn't require 240 volts, guaranteeing comfort wherever you roam. It uses fuel from the vehicle's diesel tank at an efficient rate of just 1 litre for every 10 hours of warmth. Perfect for keeping you snug and comfortable on your adventures!
Shower & Toilet
This motorhome features a private shower and toilet for convenience, ensuring a comfortable and refreshing experience while traveling.
Sleeping
Enjoy the ultimate convenience with the electric roll-down double bed, which allows for a seamless transition from day to night, ensuring you can relax in complete comfort. The versatile rear dinette easily converts into a spacious double bed, creating a cozy retreat for a restful night after a day of adventure.
Kitchen
Indulge your culinary desires with a gas oven and stove top, empowering you to prepare delicious meals while on the road and satisfy your taste buds with home-cooked goodness.
