Nestled amongst old growth rainforest at the southern edge of the Tarkine Wilderness, Corinna -once a thriving mining town – is now a popular eco-tourism destination. If you want to explore the Tarkine, Corinna is the best place to base yourself, with many short and long walks beginning near the town.

Corinna is a place where you can discover Tasmania’s natural beauty and take in the sights and sounds of the great outdoors.

Situated on the banks of the pristine Pieman River there are daily cruises available on the Arcadia II. If you’re looking to explore the river at your own pace and you’re staying at the Corinna Wilderness Experience, there’s also kayaks available for hire.

Corinna is a place where you can discover Tasmania’s natural beauty and take in the sights and sounds of the great outdoors. There’s a range of walking tracks to suit all levels including the Huon Pine Walk (app 20 minutes – wheelchair accessible) and the Whyte River Walk (app 90 minutes easy walking). So even if you’re only driving through Corinna and not stopping the night you’ll be able to make the most of your visit

You can also fish from the banks of the Pieman River or head out to the Pieman Heads to do some beach fishing or if you’ve got a boat you can head out on the river. There’s a range of different species that can be caught, but the lure of this region are the sizeable sea-running ocean trout! Don’t forget you’ll need to buy a fishing licence.
